I. Main Content

Data in this chapter reflect the basic situation and operation of construction enterprises in Beijing. Main indicators include number of enterprises, employees, total output value of the construction sector, as well as floor space, profits, and tax of construction enterprises.

II. Scope of Statistics

Since 2004, data on construction sector, which previously covered construction enterprises with independent accounting at or above Level-4 in construction qualifications, have been adjusted to cover all construction enterprises with qualifications of general and specialized contracting.

III. Source of Data and Methods of Survey

Data on construction enterprises in this chapter were gathered based on Statistical Statement System for Construction Sector developed by the National Bureau of Statistics. The figures were gained through complete survey, and were provided by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics and NBS Survey Office in Beijing.

IV. Changes in Relevant Statistical Standards

In this chapter, classification of construction sectors during 2002-2011 was based on the Standard for Classification of National Economic Sectors 2002 (GB/T 4754-2002). Standard for Classification of National Economic Sectors 2011 (GB/T 4754-2011) began to be enforced in 2012.

V. About the Adjustment to Historical Data

As ˇ°The First National Economic Census in Beijingˇ± was conducted in 2004, in accordance with the principles of  unified requirements and methods by the National Bureau of Statistics, historical data must be revised on basis of the census result. Data of total output value of construction sector during 1993-2003 were revised by ˇ°trend deviation methodˇ±. The first economic census was in 2004, and the second was in 2008, and the third was in 2013.
