I. Main Content and Scope of Statistics

This chapter includes statistics for the number and cost of tourists to Beijing, operation and reception of star-rated hotels, reception and outbound tours made through travel agencies, activities at Level A-or-above key scenic spots, and so on.

Statistics include international and domestic tours.

II. Source of Data

Data of foreign exchange income from tourism, number of domestic tourists, domestic tourism income, and cost of tourists in Beijing are sourced from Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development. The number of inbound tourists is summed from the results of comprehensive survey of star-rated hotels and non-star-rated hotels above designated size, sample survey of hotels below designated size conducted by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics, as well as the results of sample survey of other accommodation facilities conducted by Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development. Data concerning star-rated hotels, travel agencies, Level A-or-above key scenic spots were obtained through comprehensive survey, and provided by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics and NBS Survey Office in Beijing.
