I. Main Content

This chapter consists of statistics for social activity participation, public security institutions, procuratorates, courts, judicial authorities, civil affairs, labor security, undertakings for disabled people, women and children development planning and monitoring. 

II. Data Sources

1. Statistics for social activity participation consist of the numbers of deputies and proposals at people’s congress and political consulting conferences of Beijing in previous years, women’s federation and organizations, and labor unions. Data were provided respectively by the Standing Committee of Beijing Municipal People’s Congress, Beijing Committee of CPPCC, Beijing Women’s Federation, and Beijing Federation of Labor Unions.

2. Statistics for public security institutions, procuratorates, courts, and judicial authorities cover criminal cases put on the record of public security organs as well as public security investigation and punishments, traffic accidents and fires, case settlements in procuratorates, cases accepted and settled by people’s courts, information on lawyers, notary, mediation provided by juridical bureaus. Data were provided by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Public Security, People’s High Court of Beijing, People’s Procuratorate of Beijing, and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice.

3. Statistics for civil affairs and labor security mainly consist of social welfare institutions, personnel, social relief, special care, and marriage registration. Data were provided by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs, and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security.

4. Statistics for disabled persons mainly include information on rehabilitation, education, employment and poverty reduction, and building of federations for disabled persons, etc. Data were provided by Beijing Disabled Persons’ Federation.

5. Supervision data on women and children development are composed of women’s participation in decision making and management, employment, education, health, legal protection, and so on; children’s health, education, legal protection, social living environment, etc. Data were provided respectively by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics in accordance with statistic reporting system of different departments.

6. Safe production data were provided by Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce, Beijing Municipal Food and Drug Administration, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Traffic Management, Beijing Administration of Work Safety.
