I. Main Content
This chapter includes: main indicators for tertiary industry, main indicators for tertiary industry above designated size, financial status of tertiary industry above designated size, service trade, cultural and creative industry, logistics industry, exhibition activities, sports and activities in related sectors in Beijing.
II. Date Source
Except for the data on service trade in Beijing, which are acquired from Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce, other data are provided by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics, and NBS Survey Office in Beijing.
III. Scope of Statistics
In this chapter, the tertiary industry above designated size refers to corporate enterprises above designated size other than international organizations. It includes all corporate enterprises in real estate development sectors, all corporate enterprises under financial regulation and the ones without financial regulation whose annual business income hitting RMB 5 million and more in finance, enterprises with annual main business income of RMB 20 million and more in wholesale trade, enterprises with annual main business income of RMB 5 million and more in retail trade, star-level hotels and non-star-level enterprises with annual main business income of RMB 2 million and more in accommodation, enterprises with annual main business income of RMB 2 million and more in restaurants, enterprises with annual business income of RMB 5 million and above or with period-end employees of 50 and above in resident service, repair, other services, culture, sports and entertainment, enterprises with annual business income of RMB 10 million and above or with period-end employees of 50 and above in other sectors, and corporate enterprises with total income of RMB 10 million and more following accounting system designed for administrative institutions and non-profit private organizations.
Data on cultural and creative industry were calculated based on annual statistical reports and other related materials of corporate enterprises in cultural and creative sector.
The statistical scope of logistics include enterprises in railway transport, road transport, water transport, air transport, transport via pipelines, loading, unloading, portage, storage, post, packaging services, wholesale trade, retail trade and industrial enterprises above designated size.
Statistical scope of MICE industry covers service companies and reception companies holding the exhibitions, in details, including: star-level hotels and those hotels with annual main business income of RMB 2 million and more; venues for exhibitions; sponsors of large exhibitions (with the list provided by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Public Security) together with organizations providing various professional services to exhibitions. Statistics for MICE in 2013 are calculated after collecting data from annual statistical report and relevant departments. As the scope of companies under survey is not completely the same (there are companies newly added and phasing out), data in both the current year and previous year are collected from the surveyed companies to keep the data comparable.
Data on sports and related industry were calculated according to the data in annual statistical reports and other related materials. As for the scope of statistics, the standards in the Classification of Sports and Related Industry (Temporary) issued by the State Administration for Sports and National Bureau of Statistics were applied.
¢ô. Changes in Relevant Statistical Standards
(I) Classification of Sectors. According to relevant provisions of National Bureau of Statistics, the Standard for Classification of National Economic Sectors (GB/T4754-2011) became effective in 2012.
(II) Classification of Three Industries. According to the Provisions of the National Bureau of Statistics on Classification of Three Industries (GTZ [2012] No. 108), the scope of three industries was changed. The primary industry refers to agriculture, forestry, animal production and hunting, fishing (excluding service for agriculture, forestry, animal production and hunting, fishing); the secondary industry refers to mining and quarrying (excluding mining support activities), manufacturing (excluding metal products, machinery and equipment repair), production and distribution of electricity, heating power, gas and water, and construction; the tertiary industry refers to sectors other than the primary and secondary industries. the Provisions of the National Bureau of Statistics on Classification of Three Industries (GTZ [2012] No. 108) came into effect in 2012.
